Retired bank employee killed in truck accident in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, (Orissa Today), July 15: Sadananda Swain, a retired bank employee, tragically lost his life on Monday morning in Bhubaneswar when he was struck by a speeding truck near Kala Bhoomi, Odisha Crafts Museum, in Gandamunda. The incident occurred while he was on his regular morning walk, resulting in his immediate death, as confirmed by sources.
Upon receiving the report, police swiftly responded to the scene, apprehended the driver responsible, and seized the truck involved in the accident. Sadananda Swain’s body has been sent for postmortem examination, and authorities have launched a thorough investigation into the incident.
Local residents have raised concerns about traffic management in the area, citing a lack of sufficient speed breakers which they believe contributes to frequent accidents. “The absence of adequate speed control measures has led to several road mishaps recently. Authorities should install more speed breakers to slow down vehicles,” stated a local resident.
