8 Injured in a Mishap at the Steel Plant in Kalinga Nagar

Dangadi, Jajpur (Orissa Today) Mar 21 : An accident occurred at the Steel Melting Shop of Tata Steel, Kalinga Nagar, on Friday morning at around 11:30 AM. A sudden explosion took place at the shop, causing injuries to at least eight workers, including a woman. The workers primarily sustained burn injuries and were immediately rushed to the steel plant’s health facility.

The injured workers have been identified as Rahul Kumar of Patna, Manoj Kumar of Jamshedpur, Shradhanjali Bhuyan of Rourkela, Jayant Paul of West Bengal, Pradeep Kumar Ojha of Jamshedpur, Rohit Jadhav of Chhattisgarh, Lokesh Roy of Ranchi, and Saimant Bagdi of West Bengal. Upon receiving information about the incident, the factory authorities promptly transported them to the Tata Steel Medical Hospital by ambulance for treatment.

The accident reportedly occurred due to contact with water while pouring hot liquids. Speculations suggest that a lack of adequate safety measures may have contributed to the incident.

Following the incident, Tata Steel released a press statement confirming that their experienced medical team is currently treating the injured workers and that all of them are now out of danger. The company further assured that they are committed to providing the best medical facilities and are making every effort to ensure the workers’ safe recovery.
