74th Odisha Police Athletics Championship 2026 Begins in Cuttack with 502 Athletes
Cuttack, Feb 8: The 74th Odisha Police Athletics Championship 2026 commenced at the Reserve Police Ground in Buxi Bazaar, Cuttack, with a vibrant opening ceremony led by Director General of Police (DGP) Vinaytosh Mishra.
In his inaugural address, Mishra described the championship as a celebration of discipline, endurance, and resilience within the Odisha Police force.
He highlighted the growing participation of women athletes this year and praised the achievements of police athletes who have excelled at national and international levels.
The championship, which runs until February 10, features 36 police teams with 502 athletes—427 men and 75 women—competing across various track and field events.
Senior officers, including ADGs, IGPs, DIG, DCP, and Commandants, were present at the ceremony, underscoring the importance of the event in fostering camaraderie and confidence among officers.
Organizing efforts were spearheaded by DG Reserve Police Yogesh Bahadur Khurania, ensuring smooth execution of the championship.
