19 Candidates file nominations for Nuapada Assembly by poll

Bhubaneswar, Oct 21 (UNI) A total of 19 candidates have filed their nomination papers for the Nuapada Assembly by-election, in Odisha scheduled for November 11.

Among the key contenders are Snehangini Chhuria of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD), Jay Dholakia of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and Ghasiram Majhi of the Indian National Congress (INC).

Other candidates include Ramakant Hati (Samajwadi Party), Hemant Tandi (Bahujan Mukti Party), Raja Ram Sahu (Bahujan Samaj Party), Shukdhar Dandsena (Odisha Janata Dal), and Sitaram Behera (Rashtriya Parivartan Dal).
In addition, 11 independent candidates have also entered the fray. They are Ashraya Mahanand, E. Chakranta Jena, Purushottam Behera, Kamal Kumar Chhatria, Bhubanalal Sahu, Lochan Majhi, Bhujbal Adbang, Kishore Kumar Bag, Bhakta Bandhu Dharua, Neeta Bag, and Laxmikant Tandi.

he last date for withdrawal of nominations is October 24, and the entire election process will conclude by November 16, Chief Electoral Office sources said.
