18-Month-Old Odia Girl Sets India Book of Records for Memory Skills

Narsinghpur, Cuttack — October 28, 2025: Shrinika Nayak, an 18-month-old toddler from Odisha, has stunned the nation by earning a place in the India Book of Records for her extraordinary memory and verbal recognition skills.

Born to engineer Krishna Nayak and banker Subhadarshani Parida, Shrinika began showcasing cognitive brilliance before she could speak clearly. By the age of one, she was retaining and recalling complex information with ease — a trait her parents nurtured without pressure, allowing her to learn naturally.

Her impressive repertoire includes identifying 23 fruits, 23 birds, 25 flowers, 27 freedom fighters, 27 famous places, 10 deities, 60 animals, 28 insects, 12 dry fruits, 13 colours, 14 shapes, 16 sports items, 22 professions, 19 space objects, 24 vehicles, 21 body parts, and 50 miscellaneous items.

Recognising her rare talent, her family applied to the India Book of Records. Shrinika cleared the evaluation effortlessly and was awarded a certificate, medal, and citation — officially becoming one of India’s youngest record holders.

Her achievement is not just a personal milestone but a beacon of inspiration for parents and educators across the country, highlighting the power of early cognitive development and natural learning environments.
