114 Accused Get Bail in SI Exam Scam; Prime Conspirator Munna Mohanty Remains Behind Bars

In a significant development in the Odisha Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment scam, courts have granted bail to 114 accused candidates while rejecting the plea of alleged mastermind Munna Mohanty and eight others.

Each of the bailed individuals secured release by furnishing a surety of Rs 50,000 and two guarantors.

The arrests stemmed from a police operation that intercepted candidates travelling from Odisha to Vijayawada, where they intended to appear for the SI recruitment exam in Hyderabad. Investigators allege that Mohanty orchestrated the scam by recruiting impersonators and manipulating exam logistics.
