10 Jawans Injured, 7 Critical in Angul Highway Crash
Angul, Aug 2 (OT Webdesk)— A late-night road accident on National Highway 55 near Mundasahi left ten jawans from the 2nd Battalion injured, with seven in critical condition.
The personnel were travelling in a Traveller van from Jharsuguda to Bhubaneswar when their vehicle collided with a broken-down truck that lacked safety indicators.
Local residents responded swiftly, helping evacuate the injured to Angul District Hospital. Five of the critically injured jawans were later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for advanced care. The remaining three are receiving treatment for minor injuries in Angul.
Preliminary investigations suggest negligence on the part of the stationary truck, which had no warning signs. Authorities have launched a probe into the incident.
