Odisha Unveils District-Wide Science Projects to Inspire Future Innovators

(OT Webdesk)In a bold move to democratize science education and spark innovation across the state, Odisha’s Science and Technology Minister Krushna Chandra Patra has announced the launch of science-focused projects in every district.

The initiative aims to cultivate a scientific temperament among youth and position Odisha as a hub for future-ready talent.

A cornerstone of the plan includes the construction of planetariums in all districts, many of which are nearing completion.

These facilities will serve as interactive centres for space education, offering immersive experiences to students and the public alike.

To further fuel scientific curiosity, the state will send 30 young science enthusiasts annually to the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). These students will gain firsthand exposure to India’s space missions and research infrastructure.

Additionally, the Bhubaneswar Planetarium is set for a major restoration, reinforcing the capital’s role in science outreach and public engagement.

“Our goal is to cultivate more scientists from Odisha and make science accessible to all,” said Minister Patra, underscoring the government’s commitment to inclusive scientific growth.

This initiative marks a significant step in bridging the gap between grassroots education and cutting-edge scientific exploration, ensuring that every district becomes a beacon of learning and innovation.
