Odisha Gears Up for Puri Rath Yatra 2025 with Ministerial Committee
Bhubaneswar, June 6,( OT Webdesk) – In preparation for the Puri Rath Yatra 2025, the Odisha government has formed a Ministerial Committee, headed by Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, to oversee the arrangements for the world-renowned festival.
The Law Department announced the formation of the committee, which includes ministers from Law, Works & Excise, Health, Housing & Urban Development, and Commerce & Transport, with the Principal Secretary of the Law Department acting as Convener.
The Rath Yatra, set to take place on June 27, 2025, will follow the Snana Yatra on June 11, marking the annual procession of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra in grand chariots from Shree Jagannath Temple to Mausi Maa Temple.
To ensure a safe and smooth festival, the Odisha Police has implemented a multi-layered security framework, including CCTV surveillance, coastal patrolling, K-9 squads, and enhanced monitoring at key railway stations.
Traffic management measures, such as designated zones, road dividers, and VIP movement arrangements, are also being finalised.
With millions of devotees expected to attend, the government aims to make the 2025 Rath Yatra a seamless and spiritually enriching experience.
