Bhubaneswar, June 12(OT Webdesk): Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has directed officials to provide immediate assistance to Prafulla Kumar Das, a 41-year-old visually impaired man from Andhari village, Korei block, Jajpur district, following media reports highlighting his struggles.
Under the CM’s instructions, Mr. Das will receive a house under the Antyodaya Housing Scheme and an immediate financial grant of Rs 5,000 through the Red Cross.
Additionally, he will be granted a monthly disability pension of Rs 3,500 and 5 kg of rice per month under the National Food Security Scheme.
Recognising his mobility challenges, the administration has also provided him with a white cane to assist in navigation.
The Chief Minister emphasised the state government’s commitment to supporting differently-abled individuals and assured that further assistance will be provided through various welfare programs.
