
Odisha CEO Reviews Readiness for Special Electoral Roll Revision 2026
Bhubaneswar: In a strategic move to ensure accuracy and transparency in the upcoming Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls 2026, Odisha’s Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Shri R.S. Gopalan (IAS), convened a virtual review meeting with all District Election Officers (DEOs) and Collectors on Friday.
The meeting focused on field-level implementation and emphasised strict adherence to the Election Commission of India’s (ECI) guidelines. Shri Gopalan urged officials to proactively engage in the revision process and ensure seamless coordination across administrative levels.
- Comparative analysis of electoral rolls from 2002 and 2025.
- Status update on disposal of Forms 6, 7, and 8 as of September 25, 2025.
- Immediate printing and distribution of enumeration forms post-SIR schedule announcement.
- Filling of vacant posts linked to electoral activities.
- Coordination between ERO/AERO offices and Booth Level Officers (BLOs) for form uploads.
- Planning for press briefings and political party meetings on the day of the announcement.
- Second-phase training for election personnel post-schedule release.
The CEO reiterated the importance of timely execution and full cooperation with BLOs to ensure a smooth and transparent revision process.
