Gunfight Erupts in Kishtwar: Terrorists Trapped in Intense Encounter

Kishtwar terrorist encounter

Kishtwar, J&K ( OT webdesk) – May 22, 2025: A fierce gunfight broke out on Thursday morning between security forces and terrorists in the Singhpora area of Chatroo, Kishtwar district, Jammu and Kashmir. Reports indicate that at least three terrorists are believed to be trapped as the standoff continues.

This encounter follows India’s precision strikes on terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir on May 7.

In retaliation, Pakistan launched attacks on Indian military bases between May 8-10, prompting strong defensive action from Indian forces.

However, military officials from both nations reached an understanding to cease hostilities on May 10.

The recent developments come in the wake of Operation Sindoor, India’s decisive response to a deadly terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22, which claimed the lives of 26 tourists.

Security forces remain on high alert as efforts intensify to neutralise the threats in Kishtwar.

Further details are awaited as the situation unfolds.
