Bhubaneswar, May 4, 2025(OT Webdesk)– The Odisha government has officially announced a June 30, 2025 deadline for making changes to administrative boundaries, including districts, sub-divisions, tahasils, revenue villages, and urban local bodies.
After this date, the boundaries will be frozen starting July 1, 2025, as part of preparations for the Census 2025.
The Revenue & Disaster Management Department issued the notification, aligning with previous Census preparations.
Officials emphasize that finalizing administrative divisions ensures accurate population data collection while avoiding governance disruptions.
Additionally, the updated boundaries will influence future panchayat and municipal elections, ensuring electoral processes reflect demographic changes. However, this decision has sparked discussions among local authorities and residents, with concerns regarding governance and resource allocation.
This move aims to streamline Census operations and enhance administrative clarity, ensuring efficient public service delivery across the state.
