BJP’s rise to power in Odisha is not accidental : Dharmendra Pradhan
Bhubaneswar, Aug 22 (UNI) union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan today said BJP’s rise to power in Odisha was not accidental but the result of years of sustained efforts, making it the trusted choice of the people.
The BJP has not emerged as an accidental party but has grown into the world’s largest political party and, for the first time, formed the government in Odisha with the blessings of the people,he stated .
Pradhan said “Odia Asmita” is not merely a political issue but a cultural and economic aspiration—an idea to preserve civilization and secure the future.
He was speaking at the release of the English book “Voice and Votes: Odisha Electoral Renaissance – 2024” authored by Dr. Netaji Abhinandan and Preet Bubuna.
He congratulated and felicitated the authors and publisher, recalling that only a few days ago he had released another political work, “Nirbachan 2024 – Odisha Rajyachar Kad Leutani” by Chaudhuri Amitabh Das. He welcomed the launch of such analytical books on contemporary Odisha politics and expressed hope that “Voice and Votes” would also be published in Odia.
Highlighting the BJP’s political journey in Odisha, Pradhan recalled its grassroots expansion, its success in the 2017 Panchayat polls, emergence as the main opposition, and eventual formation of a single-party government in the state.
He stressed that the Bharatiya Jana Sangh and later the BJP were not just organizations but movements built on ideas.
Speaking on development, Pradhan said semiconductors are a major global issue and, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the union Cabinet has approved two semiconductor manufacturing units in Odisha. The Centre has also cleared a six-lane, controlled greenfield Capital Region Ring Road project.
On education, he noted that the Chief Minister has announced steps to regularize schematic primary teachers as per the National Education Policy 2020.
Pradhan said the “Double Engine Government” is committed to fulfilling the aspirations and expectations of the people, whether in education, infrastructure, or economic development.
