Bhubaneswar, Jan 27: In a shocking and violent incident, unidentified miscreants allegedly hacked and critically injured a BJP worker in broad daylight at Amalapada Chhak in Angul town, Odisha, on Monday.
The victim, identified as Parthasarathi Pradhan, sustained severe injuries and was immediately rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in Angul for medical treatment.
According to sources, the attack occurred when Pradhan was returning home from a gym. Around five men, riding on three motorcycles, intercepted him and launched a brutal assault, leaving him severely injured before fleeing the scene. Pradhan was rescued by local residents who quickly rushed him to the hospital for urgent medical care.
While the exact motive behind the attack is still under investigation, authorities suspect that it could be related to political rivalry. Police have begun a thorough investigation into the incident and are reviewing nearby CCTV footage in an effort to identify and apprehend the attackers. The police have assured the public that all efforts are being made to bring the perpetrators to justice.
