Khesari Lal Yadav to Contest Bihar Assembly Election from Chapra
Patna, Oct 17, 2025 — Bhojpuri cinema icon Khesari Lal Yadav has officially announced his entry into politics, declaring his candidacy for the upcoming Bihar Assembly election. The actor will contest from the Chapra constituency as a candidate of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).
In a heartfelt video message shared on Instagram, Khesari emphasised that his decision to enter politics stems from a sense of duty, not ambition. “I am not contesting for power. I am the son of the people, and I see politics as my responsibility,” he said.
He invited fans and supporters to accompany him during his nomination filing, scheduled for tomorrow. “Your blessings and support will be my strength to fight for your rights and dignity,” he added.
The announcement has stirred excitement across both political and entertainment circles. Khesari’s move follows earlier speculation around fellow Bhojpuri star Pawan Singh, who had initially expressed interest in contesting but later withdrew due to personal reasons.
With his massive fan base and grassroots appeal, Khesari’s candidacy is expected to add a new dimension to the electoral dynamics in Chapra and beyond.
