Odisha fisherman succumbs to burns in Kerala, death toll rises to four

Kannur, Oct 16 (UNI) One more fisherman from Odisha succumbed to his burn injuries today, taking the total number of deaths in the incident to 4.
All four injured Odisha migrant labourers, who were admitted with severe burn injuries at Kannur Government Medical College Hospital (KGMCH) at Pariyaram on October 10, have now succumbed to their injuries on consecutive days from October 13 to 16.
The deceased was identified as Jidentra Bahra (28) of Khurda district in Odisha, who succumbed to his burn injuries in the early hours of today.
Earlier, Subash Bahra (50) of Khurda district died on October 13, Nigham Behra (38) of Bishanpur district on October 14, and Shiva Behra (34) of Bishanpur on October 15.
On October 10, four migrant workers suffered burn injuries after a gas cylinder exploded following a leakage around 6:30 AM while they were preparing food at their rented house at Puthiyangadi.
It is suspected that gas had leaked overnight, and the explosion occurred when one of the workers lit a fire for cooking purposes.
Fire force personnel doused the fire and shifted the injured to KGMCH.
