Bhadrak SP Suspends Two Officers Over Duty Negligence
In a swift disciplinary move, Bhadrak Superintendent of Police Manoj Raut has suspended two police officers within 48 hours for dereliction of duty. On Sunday, Town ASI Sushanta Nayak was suspended for failing to participate in scheduled night patrolling.
The action follows a similar suspension two days earlier of Sub-Inspector Kartik Jena from the Bhadrak rural police station.
Jena’s suspension stemmed from a bizarre incident involving a civilian impersonating a police officer.
The impersonator, identified as Piyush Ranjan Panda from Dhusuri area, was allegedly sent by Jena to investigate a case in Rasikabag village. Villagers, suspicious of his credentials, alerted authorities.
Piyush was detained and questioned, leading to a formal case being registered against him.
The twin suspensions have sparked widespread discussion across Bhadrak, raising concerns about internal accountability and operational discipline within the local police force.
