Skeletal Remains Found in Abandoned Hospital Toilet in Bolangir; Police Launch Probe
Bolangir, Odisha — In a disturbing turn of events, skeletal remains suspected to be of a child were discovered inside a toilet of the abandoned Bhainsa Primary Health Centre (PHC) under Patnagarh police limits on Sunday.
The remains were found in a dilapidated urinal within the old hospital premises, which had been left unused for years after the health centre relocated to a new building.
Local residents, who stumbled upon the bones, immediately alerted hospital authorities, prompting swift police action.
A forensic team arrived at the scene and collected samples for examination. Preliminary observations suggest the remains are human, though forensic analysis will determine the age, identity, and cause of death.
“The structure had been neglected for years, with no security or maintenance. It’s shocking something like this went unnoticed,” said a local resident.
Police officials confirmed that a detailed investigation is underway. Locals have raised concerns of possible foul play and are urging authorities to leave no stone unturned in uncovering the truth.
The incident has sparked widespread alarm in the community, with many questioning how such a grim discovery could remain hidden for so long.
