Odisha Government Reshuffles IAS Cadre, Transfers 10 Officers in Major Bureaucratic Move

Bhubaneswar, Oct 10: In a sweeping administrative overhaul, the Odisha government has transferred 10 IAS officers and reassigned key portfolios to streamline governance and enhance departmental efficiency.

The General Administration and Public Grievance Department issued the notification late Thursday evening.

Among the notable changes, N. Thirumala Naik (2009 batch) has been appointed Commissioner-cum-Secretary of the School & Mass Education Department, replacing his previous role as Vice Chairman of the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA). Mansi Nimbhal (2010 batch) now heads the Odisha Lift Irrigation Corporation as Managing Director, while retaining her additional charge in the Water Resources Department.

Surendra Kumar Meena (2012 batch) moves to the ST&SC Development, Minorities & Backwards Classes Welfare Department. Subhashree Nanda (2013 batch) takes over at the Planning & Convergence Department.

Remjit Nayak and Deepankar Mohapatra (both 2014 batch) have been appointed Directors of Scheduled Tribes and Tourism, respectively.

Other significant appointments include Pranati Chhotray (2014 batch) as Additional Secretary in the Home Department, and Nivedita Prusty (2015 batch) as MD of Boyanika, continuing her charge as Director of Handicrafts. Madhusmita Samal and Saniay Kumar Biswal (both 2015 batch) have been reassigned to the Panchayati Raj & Drinking Water and Commerce & Transport Departments, respectively.

Additionally, OAS officer Kanhu Charan Dhir has been posted as Director, Minor Minerals. Senior IAS officer Girish S.N. (2002 batch) will hold additional charge of Mission Shakti, while Chanchal Rana (2014 batch) retains his roles at BDA and Bhubaneswar Smart City Ltd.

This reshuffle is seen as a strategic move to optimize departmental leadership and accelerate developmental initiatives across Odisha.
