Odisha Govt Centralizes OISF Battalions in Bhubaneswar to Boost Industrial Security

In a strategic move to reinforce industrial safety across the state, the Odisha government has designated Bhubaneswar as the headquarters for the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th battalions of the Odisha Industrial Security Force (OISF).

The decision, issued under clause 3(3) of the OISF Act, 2012, aims to streamline command structures and enhance operational efficiency.

Officials stated that centralising the battalion headquarters in Bhubaneswar will enable faster response times, better logistical coordination, and improved administrative oversight.

The OISF, tasked with safeguarding both government and private industrial establishments, plays a critical role in protecting infrastructure, personnel, and assets vital to Odisha’s economic growth.

This move signals the state’s commitment to building a robust security framework for its expanding industrial ecosystem. With Bhubaneswar emerging as a strategic hub, the newly formed battalions are expected to bolster surveillance and crisis response capabilities across key industrial zones.

Governor-led directives have formalised the transition, aligning with Odisha’s broader vision of secure and sustainable industrial development.
