NALCO to provide skill training for youths in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Oct 8 (UNI) National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO), a Navratna CPSE under the Ministry of Mines, has signed an MoU to implement a skill training programme for youth from the peripheral villages of its operational units in Damanjodi and Angul in Odisha.

The MoU was signed between NALCO Foundation, the company’s CSR arm, and the Central Tool Room and Training Centre (CTTC), Bhubaneswar, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India, yesterday.

Under the initiative, 20 youths each from the peripheral villages near NALCO’s Mines & Refinery Complex, Damanjodi, and Smelter & Power Complex, Angul—a total of 40 youths- will be sponsored for a five-month residential training programme at CTTC, Bhubaneswar.

The MoU signing ceremony was attended by Shri Brijendra Pratap Singh, CMD, NALCO, along with Directors Pankaj Kumar Sharma (Production) and Dr. Tapas Kumar Pattnayak (HR).

Appreciating the initiative, Singh said the programme would equip local youth with industry-ready skills and create sustainable livelihood opportunities.

He added that such CSR interventions could set a benchmark in the region by nurturing local talent and building confidence among the youth.

The training will be conducted in alignment with the National Skills Qualification Framework of the National Skill Development Council, Government of India.

This initiative reinforces NALCO’s ongoing commitment to community development and sustainable livelihoods under its CSR efforts.
