
Vande Bharat express extended to Varanasi via Ayodhya
Varanasi, Aug 27 (UNI) The Vande Bharat Express (Train No. 22490/22489), running between Meerut City and Lucknow, was extended up to Varanasi Junction via Ayodhya Dham today.
The inaugural flag-off from Varanasi Junction was done by Uttar Pradesh Minister of State (Independent Charge) for AYUSH and Food Security, Dr Dayashankar Mishra ‘Dayalu’, along with Cantt MLA Saurabh Srivastava, other public representatives, and senior railway officials.
Dr. Mishra described the occasion as a special day for Kashi, marking a new chapter in the city’s development journey with the addition of the Vande Bharat service.
MLA Srivastava added that Varanasi continues to receive new gifts of progress, and the people of Kashi are deeply grateful to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Vande Bharat Express will now run from Varanasi to Meerut, passing through Ayodhya and Lucknow. A large crowd gathered at Varanasi Junction to witness the train’s first departure.
