Odisha CM felicitates Champa Raspada, first Didayi tribal girl to study MBBS

Bhubaneswar, Aug 26 (UNI) Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today felicitated Champa Raspada, the first student from the Didayi tribal community of Malkangiri district to qualify for an MBBS course by cracking the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).

The Chief Minister wished Champa a bright future and presented her with a laptop. He advised her that with good education, becoming a doctor, and serving the people, she would truly make a difference in life.
Expressing her gratitude, Champa said the blessings of the Chief Minister would inspire her throughout her journey.

Notably, she is the first student from the Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG) category and the Scheduled Tribe community of Malkangiri district to succeed in the medical entrance examination.

Champa, who cleared the 2025 NEET examination, had completed her Class 10 from Chitrakonda SSD School and her higher secondary education with distinction from Govindapali Higher Secondary SSD School.

She will now pursue her MBBS degree at Fakir Mohan Medical College, Balasore.
A resident of Amlibeda village in Muduliguda, Champa has become the first woman from her community to qualify for MBBS. Her success has brought immense pride to her family and community.
Coming from a large family dependent on agriculture, Champa nurtured the dream of becoming a doctor despite financial hardships and lack of resources.
With determination and support from government institutions, she pursued her goal.

She credited IRODOV Classes and her teacher, Utkal Keshari Das, for their guidance and support. Champa aspires to become a gynaecologist and serve the people of her community living in remote and inaccessible regions.
