(OT Webdesk)In a sweeping move to seek justice for the late Soumyashree, a student of Fakir Mohan College in Balasore, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) will organise RDC-level protests across Odisha on July 21.
The demonstrations, set to take place at the Revenue Divisional Commissioner’s offices in Cuttack, Sambalpur, and Berhampur, aim to press for a judicial inquiry into her mysterious death.
Debi Prasad Mishra, BJD Vice President, reaffirmed the party’s position: “We will gherao RDC offices to demand justice for Soumyashree. A judicial investigation is the only way to uncover the truth behind this heartbreaking incident.”
Widespread public outrage has surged following the incident, with allegations of negligence and unanswered questions dominating discourse.
Student unions and civil society groups have joined the chorus, amplifying calls for accountability and transparency.
BJD’s youth and student wings are expected to lead the charge, signalling an intensification of political pressure on the state administration.
With preliminary reports inconclusive, the demand for a judicial probe is rapidly gaining traction among students and concerned citizens statewide.
The protests are poised to redefine the political narrative, with opposition leaders, activists, and the public closely watching the government’s response to these developments.
