Bhubaneswar, July 3 (UNI) Train services on the Koraput-Kirandul line under the Waltair Division remained disrupted for the second consecutive day today due to incessant rains and a landslide that occurred between Malliguda and Jarati stations.
According to East Coast Railway (ECoR) sources, heavy earth-moving machinery, manpower, and materials have been mobilised, and restoration work is currently underway.
Railway officials, including the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), are on-site to oversee the restoration process. A major portion of the track, which was buried under mud and boulders, has already been cleared, and work is progressing at full speed.
The ECoR has cancelled 18107/18108 Rourkela–Jagdalpur–Rourkela Express from Rourkela on July 3 and from Jagdalpur on July 4,18448 Jagdalpur–Bhubaneswar Hirakhand Express cancelled on July 4 from Jagdalpur for rake adjustment.
The 58501/58502 Visakhapatnam–Kirandul–Visakhapatnam Passenger will operate only between Visakhapatnam and Araku and will remain cancelled between Araku and Kirandul.
The 18005/18006 Howrah–Jagdalpur–Howrah Samaleswari Express will operate between Howrah and Koraput on July 4 and 5, and remain cancelled between Koraput and Jagdalpur.
Similarly, the 18515/18516 Visakhapatnam–Kirandul–Visakhapatnam Express will run between Visakhapatnam and Koraput on July 3 (from Visakhapatnam) and July 4 (from Kirandul), and remain cancelled between Koraput and Jagdalpur.
The 08445/08446 Jagdalpur–Puri–Jagdalpur Rath Yatra Special will run between Koraput and Puri on July 4 and 5 (from Jagdalpur) and on July 6 and 7 (from Puri), and remain cancelled between Koraput and Jagdalpur.
