Bhubaneswar, May 30 (OT Webdesk): Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic accident in Sikkim, where a tourist vehicle carrying 11 people plunged nearly 1,000 feet into the Teesta River.

The devastating incident, which occurred between Chungthang and Munshithang in North Sikkim, has left at least one dead and eight others missing.

With several passengers reportedly from Odisha, the state government has taken swift action to coordinate rescue and relief efforts. CM Majhi has ordered a dedicated team of Odisha officials to oversee rescue operations, medical assistance, and coordination with local authorities.

“The safety and well-being of Odia passengers is our utmost priority,” stated CM Majhi, assuring that the Odisha government will extend full support to the affected families and monitor developments closely.

The tragedy has sparked concern across the state, with families awaiting updates on their loved ones. Authorities continue to search for the missing passengers while providing necessary aid to survivors.
