Nishikant Dubey Questions ‘Motives’ Behind Indo-Pak Matrimonial Bonds

Cross-border marriages and national security

(OT Webdesk) :Nishikant Dubey, a BJP Member of Parliament, has raised concerns over inter-country marriages involving Indian and Pakistani citizens, describing them as a “new face of Pakistani terrorism.” His remarks, made amidst the suspension of India-Pakistan visas following the Pahalgam terror attack, have sparked a national debate.

Dubey alleged that over 500,000 Pakistani women married to Indian men are living in India without having obtained Indian citizenship. He urged authorities to investigate these marriages, implying potential links to broader conspiracies. Dubey also referenced the Enemy Property Act and questioned the motives behind such marriages, suggesting scrutiny similar to that applied under the Act.

These statements have fueled discussions on national security and the need for stricter checks on cross-border matrimonial alliances.
