Voters in Odisha benefit from ‘Mo Booth’ app for polling station information

Bhubaneswar, (Orissa Today), May 15: Reports on Wednesday revealed that the Odisha government has introduced a ‘Mo Booth’ app to enhance voter convenience. This mobile application, accessible to voters, simplifies the process of locating their polling station and assessing the current queue status.

State Chief Electoral Officer Nikunj Dhal inaugurated the Mo Booth app, developed by the Khurda District Administration, aiming to furnish voters with essential polling information. Initially implemented for all constituencies in Khurda district, the app addresses challenges faced by voters in locating booths, particularly in Bhubaneswar.

The app’s features extend to Block Level Officers (BLOs) and Sector Officers, facilitating real-time updates on polling queue lengths and various aspects of the polling process. BLOs can relay queue information to citizens and officials, while Sector Officers can provide updates on polling party arrival, mock polls, actual poll progress, and polling completion status.

Moreover, Sector Officers can request assistance regarding law and order issues or malfunctioning Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), ensuring swift responses through a centralized dashboard accessible to district officers.
