Through Operation Sindoor, India used its ‘Right to Respond’ to the attack on its soil: Rajnath Singh

India’s military response and border infrastructure projects

(OT Webdesk)In a historic military operation, India exercised its ‘Right to Respond’ through Operation Sindoor, dismantling terrorist training camps in Pakistan and Pok.

The Armed Forces executed the strike with precision, precaution, and compassion, ensuring civilian safety while eliminating the intended targets.

Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh, addressing the 66th Raising Day event of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) in Delhi, emphasised the strategic significance of the operation. He hailed the Armed Forces for their exemplary execution under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, reinforcing India’s commitment to national security.

“The whole world has witnessed what our Armed Forces have done today. The action was carried out thoughtfully, aimed only at breaking the morale of terrorist factions,” remarked Shri Rajnath Singh.

At the same event, Rajnath Singh virtually dedicated 50 infrastructure projects undertaken by BRO, spanning six border states and two Union Territories. The projects, comprising 30 bridges, 17 roads, and three other works, were constructed at a total cost of ₹1,879 crore to enhance military preparedness, boost connectivity, and drive economic prosperity.

BRO’s recent accomplishments include:

161 infrastructure projects worth ₹5,600 crore in the past two years.

456 completed projects in the last four years, totalling ₹13,743 crore.

These projects aim to fortify India’s borders, improve transportation networks, and support the defence sector in remote regions.

Highlighting the crucial role of infrastructure in military preparedness, Rajnath Singh stated: “Modern defence capability depends not just on weaponry but on the infrastructure supporting it. The fastest tank or the most advanced aircraft must reach the battlefield on time to serve their purpose.”

He reiterated the government’s commitment to border area development, spotlighting the Sela Tunnel as a key connectivity initiative. He also lauded the Vibrant Villages Programme, which is enhancing border connectivity by constructing approximately 35 kilometres of roads daily.

The event was attended by top dignitaries, including Chief of Army Staff Gen Upendra Dwivedi, Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh, and ministers like Kiren Rijiju and Dr. Jitendra Singh. Governors and chief ministers of various border states joined virtually.

India’s assertive response through Operation Sindoor, coupled with BRO’s infrastructure push, signals a new era of strategic defence planning and border development to safeguard national sovereignty and strengthen regional stability.
