June 18, (OT Webdesk)All schools—government, aided, and private—within the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) and Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) limits will remain closed on June 20, 2025, the School and Mass Education Department announced on Wednesday.
The special holiday comes in anticipation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Odisha for the celebration marking one year of the BJP government’s tenure.
With large crowds expected and potential traffic disruptions around the civic bodies, the closure aims to ensure smooth public management and student safety.
In a formal communication to the District Education Officers of Khordha and Cuttack, the department instructed all educational institutions to comply with the directive.
Local authorities and school administrations have been notified, and necessary arrangements are underway.
