Bhubaneswar, July 2 (UNI) The Odisha government is formulating a climate-resilient strategy as part of its efforts to achieve the net-zero carbon target by reducing carbon emissions and promoting the adoption of renewable energy sources.
“We are on the verge of transitioning from conventional energy to renewable sources such as solar power, pumped storage projects (PSPs), and other forms of green energy,” said Deputy Chief Minister K.V. Singh Deo while chairing a preparatory meeting for the upcoming Energy Ministers’ Conclave, which will be held in Odisha later this year.
The Conclave, organised by the Odisha Government in collaboration with the Tony Blair Institute and IIT Kanpur, will witness participation from Energy Ministers across the country.
Odisha aims to take the lead in developing a comprehensive framework and effective policies to facilitate a smooth energy transition.

The Conclave will also showcase Odisha’s innovations in the energy sector. Several eminent personalities from India and abroad are expected to attend the event.
Singh Deo, who also holds the Energy portfolio, said that under the leadership of the Prime Minister, the foundation for a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India) by 2047 has been laid, and the energy sector will play a pivotal role in realising this vision.
