Bhubaneswar, May 24 (UNI) Odisha Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain has directed officials to expedite the resolution of pending land acquisition issues and accelerate the process of obtaining statutory clearances for key infrastructure projects being undertaken by Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) in the state.
Chairing a high-level review meeting on Friday, Swain focused on two transformative initiatives: the Dual Feed Naphtha Cracker Plant in Paradip and the Yarn Manufacturing Project in Bhadrak.
Both projects are considered central to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Purvodaya vision.
Swain stressed the importance of promptly initiating these projects, stating that their early implementation is critical not only for industrial growth but also for unlocking significant employment and investment opportunities in Odisha.
“These projects mark a pivotal moment in Odisha’s development journey,” Swain remarked. “They will serve as catalysts for economic transformation, ushering in a new era of industrial prosperity for our people.”
The Paradip Naphtha Cracker Plant is expected to be a game-changer in the petrochemical sector, fostering a robust downstream ecosystem. Meanwhile, the Bhadrak Yarn Project aims to strengthen the state’s textile industry and create substantial employment, especially in rural areas.
The meeting underscored the Odisha government’s firm commitment to facilitating industrial investments through proactive governance, timely intervention, and enhanced inter-departmental coordination.
Additional Chief Secretary of the Industries Department Hemant Sharma, along with senior officials from IOCL, IDCO, IPICOL, OPTCL, Tata Power, and the Dredging Corporation of India Limited, were present at the meeting.
