Odisha CM Majhi Unveils ₹420 Crore Development Projects – A Boost for Mayurbhanj

Bhubaneswar (OT Webdesk): Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has launched a massive development drive in Mayurbhanj, unveiling projects worth ₹420 crore that aim to improve infrastructure, industrial expansion, and social welfare in the region.


The initiative comprises 133 development projects totalling ₹328 crore alongside 52 additional projects valued at ₹91 crore covering education, sports, and industrial growth. These efforts are set to drive economic advancement and bolster public facilities across the district.

One of the significant unveilings was the establishment of a +2 college at Bisoi Block Headquarters, a move that is expected to provide better educational opportunities for local students. Additionally, the Bisoi Mini Stadium has been renamed after Dharanidhar Nayak, a respected figure whose statue will be installed in the stadium premises.

Further boosting the district’s industrial prospects, CM Majhi announced a ₹10,000 crore pledge for industrial development, promising new employment opportunities and economic prosperity for Mayurbhanj’s citizens.

Government’s Vision: “36 for 36”

At the event, CM Majhi introduced the “36 for 36” initiative, a set of 36 development programs designed to achieve a prosperous Odisha by 2036. With a focus on education, healthcare, industry, and infrastructure, the plan envisions an inclusive and sustainable growth roadmap for the state.

The Chief Minister assured that key amenities such as clean water, healthcare, electricity, and improved transportation will be accessible to all, ensuring that even remote communities benefit from this development vision.

Financial Assistance and Social Initiatives

To directly support communities, the CM distributed financial assistance at the event, including:

  • Death assistance to local beneficiaries
  • Marriage incentives for daughters of labourers
  • ₹10 lakh financial aid for women in self-help groups

The event saw participation from several key political figures, including Dr. Krushna Chandra Mahapatra, Minister for Housing and Urban Development; Ganesh Ram Singh Khuntia, Minister of Forest and Environment; Mamata Mahanta, MP for Mayurbhanj; Pratap Chandra Sarangi, MP for Balasore; and several MLAs and District officials.

With these ambitious projects in motion, Odisha takes another step forward in empowering its citizens and fostering development across the state.
