Parliament Set for 16-Hour Debate on Operation Sindoor Amid Opposition Fire

New Delhi(OT Webdesk): The Monsoon Session of Parliament is set to witness a marathon 16-hour debate on Operation Sindoor, India’s military response to the Pahalgam terror attack.

The Lok Sabha will take up the discussion on Monday, July 28, followed by the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will lead the government’s charge, joined by Union Ministers Amit Shah and S. Jaishankar, and BJP leaders Anurag Thakur and Nishikant Dubey.

The Opposition, led by Congress, SP, NCP, TMC, and TDP, is expected to raise concerns over US President Donald Trump’s claims of mediating a ceasefire between India and Pakistan.

Key Opposition figures, including Rahul Gandhi, Akhilesh Yadav, Supriya Sule, and Abhishek Banerjee, will speak during the debate. TDP MPs have been allotted 30 minutes of floor time.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi may make a statement, though official confirmation is pending. Ahead of the session, the INDIA bloc leaders will meet to finalise their strategy.

Union Minister Kiren Rijiju urged the Opposition not to stall proceedings, emphasising the importance of uninterrupted debate in the national interest.
