Odisha Vigilance arrests Jeypore Dy Forest Ranger in disproportionate assets case

Bhubaneswar, July 26 (UNI) Odisha Vigilance today arrested Rama Chandra Nepak, Deputy Ranger of the Jeypore Forest Range, for possessing Disproportionate Assets (DA) far exceeding his known sources of income.

According to Vigilance officials, Nepak will be produced before the Court of the Special Judge, Vigilance, Jeypore, later today.

The arrest followed raids that uncovered unaccounted assets, including Rs. 1.43 crore in cash, a multi-storeyed building, three flats, two high-value plots, fixed and bank deposits worth over Rs. 1.33 crore, 1.504 kg of gold, 4.637 kg of silver, and two four-wheelers.

Nepak joined government service in March 1989 as a Village Forest Worker under the Social Forestry Division in Koraput.

After the merger of the Social Forestry Division with the Territorial Forest Division, he was transferred to the Jeypore (Territorial) Forest Division.

He currently serves as the Deputy Ranger-cum-In-Charge Ranger of the Jeypore Forest Range, drawing a gross monthly salary of Rs 7. 6,880 and a net salary of Rs. 69,680, Vigilance sources added.
