Diarrhoea Outbreak Grips Nuapada Village; 16 Affected, 6 Critical

Nuapada,(OT Webdesk) — A sudden outbreak of diarrhoea in Nangalbod village under Sinapali block has triggered a health emergency, with 16 villagers falling ill, including several school children.

Six individuals are in critical condition; two have been shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital, while others are receiving treatment at the Sinapali Community Health Centre (CHC).

The illness, marked by persistent vomiting and loose motion, has spread across three hamlets over the past three days.

In response, medical teams have deployed ambulances, initiated door-to-door awareness campaigns, and begun distributing free medicines.

Dr. Prateep Panda from Sinapali CHC confirmed that proactive containment measures are underway.

Health officials are urging residents to consume safe drinking water and maintain hygiene to prevent further escalation.

The situation remains under close watch as authorities work to contain the outbreak and safeguard public health.
