Bhubaneswar, July 19(OT Webdesk) — In a major stride towards inclusive development, the Odisha government unveiled the “36 for 36” flagship programmes during a high-level workshop at Kharavel Bhavan.
The initiative, aligned with the twin visions of Viksit Odisha for Viksit Bharat — Vision 2036 and Vision 2047, positions the state as a strategic engine in India’s national growth journey.
Presided over by IAS officer Usha Padhee, the workshop highlighted Odisha’s ambitious goals: attaining a GSDP of USD 1.5 trillion, contributing 5% to the national GDP, and generating one crore non-farm jobs.
These targets are underpinned by six guiding pillars: People First, Rural Empowerment, Prosperity for All, Legacy with Pride, Tech-led Growth, and People-Centric Governance.
The “36 for 36” programmes span critical sectors, including infrastructure, healthcare, education, tourism, agriculture, and climate resilience.
Officials evaluated pilot models like the Sambalpur Municipal Corporation to refine grassroots implementation.
Governance innovations took center stage, with tools like real-time dashboards, embedded Project Monitoring Units (PMUs), and KPI-led accountability introduced to reinforce execution.
McKinsey & Company served as the strategic knowledge partner, bringing data-driven insights to the initiative.
The workshop marks a decisive leap in integrating Odisha’s local aspirations with India’s national blueprint, ushering in a new era of digitally enabled, inclusive development.
