Bhubaneswar, July 17 (UNI) The Additional District Judge and Special POCSO Court in Jagatsinghpur today sentenced a man to five years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10,000 for making an obscene video of a minor girl viral on social media.
The accused, identified as Aman Razak, hails from the Kereli area of Narsinghpur district in Madhya Pradesh.
According to the prosecution, the victim, a student from Paradip, had been taking coaching to study medicine when she came in contact with Razak through Instagram.
A friendship developed between them via social media, and Razak recorded an obscene video of the student, which he subsequently made viral. He also blackmailed her on several occasions.
Following a complaint filed by the student’s family with the Crime Branch Cyber Police Station, the police conducted an investigation and arrested Razak from Madhya Pradesh.
