GRIDCO developing 10,960 MW Power projects in Odisha: Singh Deo

Bhubaneswar, July 14 (UNI) Odisha is making steady progress toward achieving its green energy targets by strengthening the state’s power infrastructure, Deputy Chief Minister K V Singh Deo today said.

While reviewing all ongoing and upcoming projects of GRIDCO, Singh Deo stated that the corporation is currently developing power projects with a combined capacity of 10,960 MW.

These include 7,500 MW of solar power projects, 2,000 MW of wind power projects, 1,200 MW of pumped storage projects, and various small hydroelectric initiatives.

The Deputy Chief Minister, who also holds the Energy portfolio, directed officials to expedite the execution of these projects and emphasised the need for fast-tracking their implementation.

Singh Deo, who recently visited New Delhi, held discussions regarding the delays in project execution.

He cited issues such as land allocation, environmental clearances, and logistical support as key challenges.

He also personally presented the matter before the Government of India and helped resolve several issues related to energy projects in the state.
