(OT Webdesk)In a strategic move to elevate agricultural development, the Odisha government has pledged transparent crop loan distribution and prompt compensation under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY).
At a high-level meeting in Bhubaneswar, chaired by Minister Pradeep Bal Samanta, officials were urged to coordinate with insurance providers to ensure swift payouts for farmers facing crop losses. “The state is committed to the progress of agriculture and the welfare of farmers,” Samanta affirmed.
Legislators and stakeholders from NABARD, AGCS, cooperative banks, and the Cooperation Department provided crucial inputs to enhance agricultural credit systems.
Presentations by senior officials emphasised accountability and efficiency in cooperative loan disbursement and the broader vision for sustainable growth.
This renewed focus underscores Odisha’s commitment to its farming community—a sector integral to its socio-economic fabric.
