Bhubaneswar, July 4 (UNI) Assistant executive engineer of Titlagarh R&B sub-division, Dileswar Majhi, was arrested by the Odisha Vigilance today for possession of disproportionate assets (DA).

Sources in the Vigilance Directorate said Majhi will be produced in the court of a special judge, Vigilance, Bolangir, today.

Based on searches conducted at various properties belonging to the assistant executive engineer, Vigilance officials found Majhi in possession of disproportionate assets, including four buildings, one market complex, nine high-value plots, 300 grams of gold, bank deposits worth over Rs.49.45 lakh, and Rs.6.57 lakh in cash, all of which he could not satisfactorily account for.

A case has been registered against Dileswar Majhi by Sambalpur Vigilance, and the investigation is ongoing, Vigilance sources added.
