India Rebuts Pakistan’s Claims Over Waziristan Suicide Blast

India rejects Pakistan Waziristan bombing claim

New Delhi, June 29(OT Webdesk): India has categorically rejected allegations levelled by Pakistan, which accused New Delhi of orchestrating a deadly suicide bombing in North Waziristan on June 28 that left at least 14 soldiers dead and several others injured.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) called the accusations “baseless and irresponsible,” asserting that India has no involvement in Pakistan’s internal conflicts. “We reject this statement with the contempt it deserves,” an official statement read.

The attack struck a military convoy in Khadi village, using nearly 800 kilograms of explosives. Despite heightened security and a local curfew, the blast caused extensive damage to nearby homes and wounded over two dozen people, including civilians and children.

Responsibility was claimed by the Hafiz Gul Bahadur group—a breakaway faction of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP)—known for its high-profile strikes in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region.

Security analysts have long flagged the group’s rise as a major threat within Pakistan’s borders.

In its official communication, Pakistan’s military nonetheless pointed fingers at India, without presenting substantiating evidence.

India has urged Islamabad to prioritise domestic security reforms and dismantle terror networks that threaten regional peace.

The incident has reignited tensions along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border, as Pakistan also alleged that insurgent groups operate from Afghan territory—an assertion denied by Kabul.

Experts warn that cross-border blame games only derail efforts toward stability in South Asia.
