Odisha: CM hikes cessation benefit for temporary employees to Rs 2.5 Lakh

Bhubaneswar, June 26 (UNI) Temporary employees of the Odisha Government will now receive a one-time cessation benefit of Rs 2.5 lakh at the time of termination of service, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced today.

Earlier, these employees were entitled to Rs 1.5 lakh upon termination of their service.

The Chief Minister has approved this interim proposal and stated that the amount will increase by 10 per cent every two years.

Employees who have served in regular posts for more than five years will receive a minimum gratuity of Rs 2.5 lakh upon retirement.

It has also been decided that this one-time gratuity amount will similarly be enhanced by 10 per cent every two years.

According to official sources, this increase will not require approval from the Finance Department.

Individual departments will be authorised to revise the amount every two years.
