Rath Yatra 2025 Odisha Health Plans

Bhubaneswar, June 21 (OT Webdesk): In a decisive move to safeguard public health, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will chair a high-level review meeting at Lok Seva Bhavan today, focusing on the diarrhoea outbreak in parts of the state and the health preparedness for the upcoming Rath Yatra in Puri.

Key officials from the Health Department, including the Health Secretary, will join the discussion to assess emergency medical response mechanisms.

These include ambulance deployment, medical team mobilisation, and the setup of temporary emergency treatment centres during the festival period.

With millions expected to attend the Rath Yatra, the administration plans to deploy nearly 300 medical personnel comprising doctors, nurses, and paramedics.

Sanitation, clean drinking water, and food safety are also under the spotlight to avert potential health crises, especially during the monsoon season.

This initiative reflects the proactive governance of the new administration and underscores its focus on public health resilience during Odisha’s largest religious gathering.
