Odisha to Get Respite as Monsoon Rains Break Intense Heatwave

Odisha weather alert

Bhubaneswar, June 12, (OT Webdesk)After enduring days of sweltering heat and humidity, Odisha is set to receive much-needed relief as the monsoon winds bring cooler temperatures and rainfall.

The Regional Meteorological Centre predicts a 2-3°C drop in day temperatures starting today, significantly easing the heatwave conditions.

Weather forecasts indicate that several districts will receive rain as early as June 14.

The returning monsoon showers are expected to benefit both farmers and urban residents, improving soil moisture levels and cooling the atmosphere.

In addition to the anticipated rainfall, the meteorological department has issued a thunderstorm warning for multiple districts, including Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, and Malkangiri.

Residents are advised to take precautions against lightning, strong winds, and sudden downpours.

Officials have urged citizens to remain indoors and avoid open spaces during storms.

With the monsoon set to make a strong comeback, Odisha will experience a shift in weather patterns, bringing relief from the prolonged dry spell.
