Bhubaneswar, June 9, :(OT Webdesk)The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Odisha, led by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, is celebrating its first year in office with a 14-day public outreach program from June 8 to June 21.
The initiative aims to showcase the administration’s achievements in governance, development, and transparency, engaging citizens through a series of district- and state-level events.
The program began on June 8 with industry consultations and discussions with MPs and MLAs at Lok Seva Bhawan. On June 9, a press conference detailed the government’s progress and transparency efforts.
A major highlight is the National Seminar on ‘Viksit Odisha 2036 and 2047’, scheduled for June 10, focusing on Odisha’s long-term development vision. CM Majhi will also visit Jagannath Temple in Puri on June 11, reaffirming the state’s cultural and spiritual heritage.
On June 12, CM Majhi will flag off 12 ‘Vikas Vahan’ development vehicles and 100 e-buses, demonstrating Odisha’s commitment to sustainable infrastructure.
The day will conclude with a state-level ‘Vikas Mela’ and food festival, celebrating Odisha’s achievements.
The cultural events from June 12 to 18 include:
- Drama series on Odisha’s luminaries at Rabindra Mandap.
- Odia film screenings in Bhubaneswar, Berhampur, Sambalpur, and Rourkela.
- Musical tributes to Odia legends and a Sambalpuri music evening.
- ‘Vision Odisha 2036’ artists’ camp at Kalinga Art Gallery.
- State-level Raja Mahotsav, showcasing Odisha’s traditions.
The program also features community-focused events:
- June 13: Nari Shakti Conclave (Women’s Empowerment) in Cuttack.
- June 17: Krushak Shakti Conclave (Farmers’ Empowerment) in Bolangir.
- June 18: Adivasi Shakti Conclave (Tribal Empowerment) in Baripada.
On June 20, a state-level event featuring Prime Minister Narendra Modi will emphasise central support for Odisha’s development.
The celebrations will conclude on June 21 with International Yoga Day at Kalinga Stadium and the Yuva Shakti Conclave (Youth Empowerment) in Berhampur.
Through this 14-day outreach program, the BJP government seeks to strengthen its connection with the people of Odisha, highlighting inclusive growth, cultural preservation, and active public participation in governance.
