Security Forces Eliminate Over 26 Naxals in Chhattisgarh Forest Encounter

Chhattisgarh Naxal Encounter

Chhattisgarh, India  ( OT Webdesk)— In one of the biggest counter-insurgency operations in recent weeks, security forces engaged in a fierce gun battle with Naxal insurgents in the dense Abujhmad forests of Narayanpur district on Wednesday.

Over 26 Naxals were killed in the encounter, confirmed Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma.

The operation, launched early in the morning, involved personnel from multiple districts, including the elite District Reserve Guard (DRG).

Intelligence inputs had indicated the presence of senior Maoist leaders in the region, prompting the forces to act swiftly.

As security teams surrounded the insurgents, a prolonged exchange of fire unfolded, resulting in heavy casualties among the Naxal ranks.

This encounter follows another successful operation in Bijapur two weeks ago, where security forces neutralised 15 Naxals near the Karregutta Hills along the Telangana border.

Officials believe that today’s mission may have eliminated key militant figures, potentially weakening the insurgency movement in the region.

Authorities are expected to release more details regarding casualties, recovered weapons, and possible future operations. Security remains tight as forces continue their anti-Naxal campaign.
