Bikaner, Rajasthan ( OT Webdesk)—Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate 103 Amrit Bharat stations across 18 states on May 22, marking a significant milestone in India’s railway modernisation.
The Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, a visionary initiative, seeks to enhance passenger experience, accessibility, and infrastructure while integrating local heritage and eco-friendly designs.
This modernisation drive will introduce improved entry and exit points, revamped waiting halls, upgraded toilets, lifts, escalators, and free Wi-Fi, ensuring seamless travel.
The ‘One Station One Product’ initiative will promote local crafts, offering handicrafts, indigenous artefacts, and regional food products for purchase at designated kiosks.
A standout feature of the scheme is the architectural inspiration drawn from local heritage—Ahmedabad station will reflect the grandeur of the Modhera Sun Temple, while Dwarka station will embody the essence of the Dwarkadheesh Temple.
The initiative is also committed to inclusivity, incorporating ramps, Braille signage, and dedicated pathways to accommodate passengers with disabilities.
With Indian Railways striving for world-class infrastructure, the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme reimagines railway stations as dynamic city hubs, blending local identity, convenience, and innovation to redefine India’s transport landscape.
