Pakistan’s Failed Attack on Golden Temple Sparks Global Condemnation

Pakistan Attack on Golden Temple

Amritsar, India ( OT Webdesk) — In a shocking escalation, Pakistan attempted to strike the Golden Temple in Amritsar using drones and long-range missiles on the night of May 7–8.

The attack came in retaliation for India’s Operation Sindoor, a precision strike on nine terror sites across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

Major General Kartik C Seshadri, GOC of the Indian Army’s 15th Infantry Division, revealed that the Pakistani military, lacking legitimate tactical targets, sought to hit symbolic religious sites.

The Indian Army, anticipating such an attack, deployed advanced air defence systems that successfully intercepted and neutralised all incoming threats, ensuring that the Golden Temple remained unharmed.

The attempt to strike the Golden Temple, one of India’s most sacred religious landmarks, has drawn sharp condemnation from Indian officials and international observers.

Many fear the move was an intentional attempt to provoke sectarian tensions, raising concerns about Pakistan’s military strategies.

Indian military experts stress that civilian and religious sites should never be targeted, labelling Pakistan’s actions a blatant violation of international norms.

The attack has now sparked calls for global scrutiny, with many urging strict diplomatic measures against Pakistan.

India’s defence preparedness has been widely praised, with Major General Seshadri affirming that no harm came to the Golden Temple, thanks to the alertness of Indian air defence units.

As tensions rise, both India and the global community remain watchful, ensuring that further escalations do not threaten civilian and religious sites.
